yoga-awareness-lightHi L-Yogi’s,

This week’s blog is about how your own awareness can let more light in your life helping you to feel more peaceful and calm.  With a consistent yoga practice, you’ve probably tuned into how the breath can help to calm your mind and emotions, helping you to “react” less and “act” more.

Practices like yoga, meditation, and breathwork give you the ability to pause when you feel under stress, pressure, or turmoil to decide what you want to do next, rather than just blindly reacting often creating more stress and drama.  Think of your ability to breathe in these moments as your ability to let in light.  You don’t have to react.  You don’t have to do anything except breath, pause, and let yourself take a moment to choose how you want to react, or rather act.  This willingness to be more aware of these moments will bring in more light over time.  So what’s this really mean?  This means you’ll be feeling happier, calmer, and more peaceful.

Magic Mantra:  My awareness brings in more light.

Your willingness to be aware is the space light needs to come in.  It really is that simple.  The more you practice it, the more you’ll feel it’s effect.  Use this mantra to start or end your day, begin your yoga practice, especially during those stressful moments during the day, or even when your “stuff” comes up during your yoga practice.  You don’t have to be perfect.  You just have to be willing to pause, breathe, and trust that this space will let more light in the moment, in your heart, and in your life.

Try this mantra out this week, anytime and anywhere.  Remember that the more you say it, the more you’ll feel it’s effects.  If you enjoy this blog post, make sure to share this with your friends and family.  If you live in the Greater Columbus area, join us in class, we’d love to have you :) .

With Love,

Natalie
